A background to

Forest Coaching

As a coach, it can be challenging to get clients to break away from the distractions and busyness of their work environments. Even when working from home and coaching virtually, I ask clients to move from where they are generally ‘anchored’ with its associated stresses and challenges to another location as I want to separate the coaching experience from their work experience.
Combining the multiple benefits of Forest Bathing along with other coaching modalities enables us to use ‘Nature as a Mirror’ to reflect on your challenges to gain insights into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. We will also explore your strengths, values, and passions and how they can be aligned with your goals. The intention being to help you gain clarity and to develop a personalised realistic and sustainable plan to work towards. We will also explore any potential barriers and how

to overcome them.

Benefits of Coaching in the forest include:

  • Increased creativity and inspiration - being in the forest helps clients to think more creatively and gain inspiration from their surroundings. The air, rain, sunshine, and nature in general stimulates the mind and lead to new insights and perspectives. Clients tend to be more receptive to new ideas and solutions to challenges they may be facing.

  • Reduced stress and improved wellbeing - spending time in the forest has been shown to reduce stress levels and improve overall well-being. The relaxation and calmness that comes from being in the environment of the forest helps clients to better manage their stress levels and improve overall mood.

  • Enhanced relationship building - coaching outdoors offers a unique opportunity to build stronger relationships between client and the coach. Outdoor settings can be less formal and more relaxed, leading to more open and honest conversations. Additionally, outdoor activities can provide a shared experience that can strengthen the trust between client and coach.

  • Increased physical activity - engaging in physical activity while coaching outdoors can have positive effects on mental and physical health. Walking in nature increases endorphins, and helps improve overall energy levels, leading to more productive coaching sessions.

  • Discover new places to revisit to deepen nature connectedness and further embed the outcomes.

We believe that by immersing yourself in nature and exploring your challenges in a supportive and compassionate environment, you can unlock your full potential and achieve greater success and fulfilment in your life and career.
